Interesting times, with so many conflicting pieces of information and so little critical reporting of information. How do you decide truth from fiction, reality from fact. Most of the time it’s how that truth affects us personally. If I have a car and can drive myself anywhere I want to go, having a hospital located out of town does not seem to be such an onerous burden. To another that can no longer drive at night well then there’s an ambulance, if it’s a REAL Emergency. Which leads to the question of what is real. We know that my reality is already not the same as yours, so who determines whose reality is important and whose reality is not. Often this is determined by the majority rules perspective. So if I as a human being am not worthy of consideration because I don’t fit into a box determined by the majority; then where has the essence of humanity gone.
Majorities work for elections but not for human compassion and care. It is time to put aside our selfish view of care and begin to once again talk about how to provide equitable treatment and healthcare for everyone. We need to hear from our local doctors and nurses on the best course of action moving forward. They are the ones that have promised to do no harm, not so for those seeking political re-election at the polls. Speak up people your voices are being denied quicker than you think.
